Outdoor Fun at Cuddly Ducklings Childminder

Being a childminder in Morden is very lucky. Leaving in a neighbourhood that offers 3 parks and many green spaces means children in my care get to have a lot of fun outdoors. They can engage with the nature in the parks, meet the animals at Dean City Farm and develop their physical skills on the playground. My childminding setting  benefits from the garden that also provides the children with many activities. They can play with sand or water, play on the equipment, do some gardening or go bug hunting!
Outdoor time gives many learning opportunities. Children learn about the seasons and changing weather, about the animals and their habitats and about themselves, exploring their own abilities.

The time outdoors is time for fun, time to run around, time to roll on the grass and time to splash in the puddles. And that’s what we do!

Morden Hall Park

Morden Hall Park it’s an absolutely amazing place and we are extremely lucky to be able to use everything it has to offer. On our daily trips to the park we enjoy observing wild birds and little creatures that live in the there.
We have great fun organising stick races on the river and playing hide and seek in a tall grass. Children love to watch the fish in the river as well as in the  aquarium, they have fun counting the fish, comparing the sizes, colours and patterns. In the summer we enjoy picnics, water fights and den building.
Morden Hall Park provides all year round fun and learning opportunities for children different ages and we happy to take advantage of it.

Our garden

Our setting benefits from a child friendly garden. Equipped in a slide, a see saw, sand and water tray and many toys gives children a wide range of  outdoor learning and playing opportunities. Children enjoy gardening and making mud cakes. In the summer children have fun splashing in the pool and enjoy eating outdoors.

Morden Recreation Grounds

On our visits to Morden Recreation Grounds we take advantage of a gigantic field and an enclosed ball pitch. Children have fun playing balls games, flying kite or chasing each other. The field and the ball pitch provide great space for all sorts of physical activities.

Ravensbury Park

Going along Wandle River we have another beautiful park, Ravensbury Park.
On our visits we enjoy the walks along the river and bird spotting games. We have fun racing on the meadow and playing on the playground – climbing the rocks, jumping on the trampoline, sliding on the slide and swinging on the swings. Summer or winter we have a lovely time.

Dean City Farm

A short walk through Morden Hall Park takes us to Dean City Farm. A place children love. They can visit different animals, learn about them and even feed them. The farm accommodates many different kinds of animals starting from the ducks, chickens and turkeys to goats, lamas and horses. Children can enjoy finding ferrets in their little houses, watching owl getting fed or even getting a chance to stroke the bunny.
Children in my care love animals and enjoy our visits to the farm a lot.

Cuddly Ducklings provides a home from home experience for babies and young children - a loving, safe, fun environment where their ever-changing needs are met consistently. The team work harmoniously with parents to ensure a true team approach, always with aim of providing the very best start for all children. The environment is highly nurturing and children feel safe. They are actively encouraged to be themselves whilst discovering the world around them. Early learning is pitched perfectly to ensure engaging activities that challenge and extend skills and knowledge appropriately. From nutritious home-cooked food, to almost daily local trips and nature walks, and even frequent exposure to other languages to enhance the already language rich environment, there is nothing missing from the provision at Cuddly Ducklings. As a parent who is a SEN teacher, with a partner who is a SENCO and school leader, we have no reservation is stating that this should, without question, be rated as the equivalent of 'Outstanding' at the next OFSTED inspection. Highly recommend.

I am a mum with VERY high standards for my kids care and I can gladly say our experience has been incredible ❤️ I never felt I was leaving my daughter for care, it felt as if I was dropping her off with a neighbor or a friend. Both Marta and Anita are very trustworthy and you can feel they care for your child’s well being. I felt there was always love available for my daughter and it breaks my heart that our time has come to an end. The other thing that impressed me was how clean and organized the house always was which created a sense of calm.

Finding Marta - Cuddly Ducklings was a blessing and we feel extremely lucky we have found her. She goes above and beyond in the care of her little ones and has been an incredible amazing help to us as this is our first baby. She constantly keeps us updated on our little man, gives us priceless advice and cares genuinely for the little ones even outside childcare hours when our little man was sick and she kept asking how he was and kept giving advice on several situations we encountered. Her knowledge and experience is priceless and she engages the little ones in activities to prepare them for life and for school later on. If you need a childminder, search no further and go meet Marta.
